Design & Cultural Inspiration
Deep maroon rudraksha beads with distinct dark carved patterns form the core of the strand, interspersed with tiny polished metal spacer rings that catch light softly. A single bright turquoise-hued cracked bead adds a vivid, refreshing pop of color that balances the warm deep red of the rudraksha. The central elongated creamy white bead is engraved with the six-syllable mantra, paired with a carved wooden lion ornament and braided multicolor cotton tassels that end in two small dark beads with delicate metal inlays. This design echoes Zen & Tao's appreciation for mindful presence, drawing on the gentle, meditative visual language of traditional Tibetan ornamental styling to foster a quiet sense of grounded peace.
Material & Craft
Crafted from rudraksha, with carefully assembled beaded construction.

About us
A quieter way of living
Zen & Tao began with the enduring wisdom of Taoism and Buddhism in Chinese culture. We are drawn to their sense of nature, compassion and quiet, and we keep asking how these old teachings can accompany life today. That curiosity and longing became the beginning of Zen & Tao.
Taoism teaches us to move with nature: to notice the turning of the seasons, the flow of water and the way every living thing grows in its own time. It reminds us to hold less urgency and make more room for ease. Life asks for effort, but it also gives us moments to pause, breathe and leave space for ourselves. We carry this freedom with us as we meet change and learn to live more honestly.
Buddhism invites us to look inward and cherish the kindness we share with others. Compassion can be a little understanding, a moment of patient listening, or gentleness toward ourselves when we are tired. Awareness helps us notice emotions as they come and go, while letting go allows us to loosen our hold on thoughts we have carried too tightly. Through these small practices, peace becomes something we can feel in everyday life.
For Zen & Tao, Zen lives in ordinary moments. A cup of tea, a passing rain shower or a quiet morning can bring our attention back to the present. We notice the warmth of the tea, listen to the sounds beyond the window and let our busy thoughts settle. We hope stillness can become a natural part of daily life, offering a little time to reconnect with ourselves amid the rush.
The Five Elements and Feng Shui also enrich our understanding of Eastern culture. Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth reveal different qualities in nature and the ways they support one another. Feng Shui's attention to the relationship between people and their surroundings reminds us to notice light, air and space, and to value places that feel comfortable and reassuring. Together, these traditions encourage us to care for life's rhythms and appreciate the harmony between people and nature.
These ideas come together in Zen & Tao. With the ease of Taoism, the compassion of Buddhism and the stillness of Zen, we continue to explore a freer, more mindful way of living. We hope you find a sense of peace here and carry it into your own day: be kind, stay close to nature, cherish the present and live at your own pace.
